With two new central warehouses Reál plans expansion
Reál’s turnover in 2011 was similar to their 2010 performance – the moderate growth was the result of inflation. At the end of the year Reál decided to build two new central warehouses and in six counties provide Reál stores with goods directly (and not through member companies): the two new storage facilities – in Budapest and Pécs – serve partners with complete food and household chemical assortments. Managing director Tibor Kujbus stressed that the investment was realised exclusively from their own resources and created 80 new jobs. Reál is the 5th biggest from the food retail companies present on the Hungarian market and now that daily market information has become directly accessible via the new warehouses, the group can react faster to everything and operate more efficiently. The next step is going to be expanding the information technology system of the two new warehouses, connecting all of Reál’s wholesale storage facilities with a standardised system. Reál expects these steps will better the group’s services and increase its market share.
