Two minutes ahead of the Chinese
– We keep analysing the work processes and looking for ways to improve productivity and to cut costs – says Markus Vüllers, who guides us when visiting the plant. We see a pressing machine making plates for ATMs. The process takes 1 minute and 33.9 seconds – in China it takes 2 minutes more, while in Singapore the process is even longer, as we can see it on two displays. Mr Vüllers told us that the Chinese regularly came to study production in Germany. There is a competition within the company and for the Paderborn plant 2,200 jobs are at stake.
