Two Hungarian cities are also at the forefront when it comes to beer prices
Hungary stands proudly on the podium of European beer prices, where Debrecen and Szeged shine with two excellent performances. In the compilation of the British Numbeo, which ranks European tourist destinations based on the lowest beer prices in restaurants, the two Hungarian cities are ranked first and third.
In the lead: Debrecen
Debrecen, the second most populous city in Hungary, leads the way when it comes to low beer prices. Here, a half-liter of restaurant beer costs only 92 pennies, or roughly HUF 400, which is an outstanding achievement in international comparison.
On the third step of the podium: Szeged
Szeged, the county seat of Csongrád-Csanád, taking the third step of the podium, proves that good beer prices in Hungary are not limited to just one city. Here, they pay 1.15 pounds for a pint of beer, or nearly HUF 500.
