The melon season starts in two weeks
The watermelon season begins in two weeks, consumers will find extra juicy first-class Hungarian melons from mid-July in the market and in the shops – was said at the press conference in Medgyesegyháza, held after the season opening meeting of the Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Interprofessional Organisation and Marketing Board.
The season is in a two weeks late because of the late spring and the wetter weather. According to preliminary estimates, 90 percent of the crop will be first-class, and the remaining ten percent will be sold as second-class product in the stores – Simonka György (Fidesz), the area’s Member of Parliament.
