The German retail trade started the year with a two and a quarter year record
German retail sales in January this year have not increased in such an extent since January 2016.
The German Federal Statistical Office, Destatis announced on Friday that German retail sales grew by 3.3 percent in January compared to December when it fell 4.3 percent.
In January, retail sales grew by 2.6 percent year-on-year, after the 2.1 percent decline of December.
Last year, German retail sales increased by 1.2 percent. (MTI)
