650 tons of sweets for two and a half billion HUF for Santa Claus and Christmas
In recent years, the food retail sector reached an about two and a half billion HUF revenues from the seasonal sweets of the December holiday season. In 2012, 1 percent less than in 2011 – the Retail Index of the Nielsen consumer information and knowledge services company determines this among other facts.
The popularity of chocolate Santa Claus figures increased already, and has continued to grow further. The consumers spent nearly half a billion forints of chocolate Santa Claus figures in the holiday season, 6 percent more than in the same period of the last year.
The 650 tons of sweets sold in November and December last year is about five percent less in volumes than in the previous year's Christmas holiday season.
