British inflation is at a two-and-a-half-year low
The pace of annual British inflation slowed to a two-and-a-half-year low in March.
According to data presented by the British Statistics Office (ONS) on Wednesday, consumer prices were on average 3.2 percent higher last month than a year earlier.
Twelve-month inflation is decreasing at a significant rate: annual inflation was measured in Great Britain at 3.4 percent in February and 4 percent in January.
The ONS emphasizes in its report on Wednesday that the annual rate of 3.2 percent in March is a low point for more than two and a half years, as the last time inflation was lower than this was in September 2021: in that month, consumer prices exceeded the level of a year earlier by 3.1 percent .
