Aufwind Schmack to start test operation of biogas plant in April
The Hungarian-based unit of Germany's Aufwind Neue Energien plans to start test operation of a HUF 3.9 billion biogas plant it is building in Szarvas in April, Aufwind Schmack announced. If everything goes well, the plant would open its gates in June.
Construction of the 4.2MW plant is supported by HUF 500 million in European Union and state funding. The plant will use 132,000 tonnes of feedstock – some to be supplied by neighbouring agribusiness Gallicoop Pulykafeldolgozó – to generate an annual 27.6m kWh of electricity as well as heat energy.
