Róbert Keszte elected new president of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce
Róbert Keszte has been elected as the new president of the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DUIHK), succeeding András Sávos, whose term of office expired after three two-year terms, the chamber told MTI on Tuesday.
Róbert Keszte has been a member of the DUIHK presidency since 2024. He has been employed by Continental since 2000. From 2013 to 2024, he was the Managing Director of Continental Automotive Hungary Kft., and in 2024, he became Head of Global Operations for the Architecture and Networking Solutions business unit of Continental AG.
Róbert Keszte graduated as a vehicle engineer from the Budapest University of Technology (BME), later studied at the Corvinus University of Budapest, and then received his doctorate from BME.
The announcement quoted Róbert Keszte, who told the chamber members after his election that the strength of the DUIHK is, on the one hand, the outstanding importance of German-Hungarian business relations in the Hungarian economy. On the other hand, the individual strength of the individual member companies and their close cooperation also support the role of the chamber. DUIHK members employ around 300,000 people in Hungary and generate around a tenth of the added value of the private sector.
Róbert Keszte emphasized that as president, he will work to ensure that the opinions and initiatives of the DUIHK are heard and taken into account in the dialogue with economic policy decision-makers.
In addition to the new president of the board, new chamber officials were also elected at the DUIHK annual general meeting.
