The capacity expansion exceeds the demand on the domestic hotel market

The domestic hotel industry seems to ignore the economic crisis: The capacity expansion exceeding the demand for years. This will be resulted in modest profitability, low room rates and tragic occupancy datas.

According to the datas of the Hungarian National Tourist Office, in the first seven months of this year, the number of foreign visitors dynamically increased by 8 percent, while a slight decline occurred in domestic tourism. It is encouraging that in the public accommodations last year, more than 20 million overnight stays were registered.
