Hungarian apricot is popular on foreign markets
The Italian, Austrian, South German, Czech, Slovak and Russian markets are interested after Hungarian apricot.
Slowly, but year-to-year the apricot production area in Hungary is reducing. Now drought indisposed the plantations and between the Danube and Tisza, the damage reached 10-20 percent. However, the market prices are low, regardless of the apricot harvest.
In the case of apricot it is also true, that the benefit mainly boils down to the traders and not the producers. With Cooperative -marketing – minus the harvest and transport costs – 200-220 HUF remains at the producers this year – reports Origo.
