Wineries want harder actions
Tokaj-based wineries expects harder actions from the Hungarian government, in relation with the usage of the name Tokaji. Slovaks also registered the name Tokaj in the EU.
The local wine-growing and wine producing community will not agree with this, because Hungary has already protected the Tokaj name, and the European Union also accepted it.
There is a long-lasting dispute between the two countries, over the usage of the name. In 2004, the two countries almost agree, but the Slovaks had not fulfilled their promise – reports Origo.
