High quality sells better
Nielsen Retail Index reveals that lemon juice retail sales grew by 13 percent in terms of value in June 2008-May 2009, compared to the previous period a year before. The size of the market approaches an annual HUF 3 billion. However, in terms of quantity we recorded a 6 percent decrease, with annual sales falling below the 16 million litre threshold. As for fruit content, the 50-99 segment continued to grow, totalling at 53 percent in the examined period; the 100 percent segment achieved 7 percent; private label sales grew to 51 percent. One-litre bottles continue to dominate.
