The conditions for ewe support will become more favorable
This year, the conditions for subsidizing production-bound ewes will become more favorable with the first amendment to Hungary’s KAP Strategic Plan. It is important to inform farmers about the two substantial changes now, before this year’s submission period for the unified application and the publication of the related national legislation.
The beginning of the 100-day possession period changes to April 1 while until 2023 the period of possession of the animals declared in the subsidy application began on the day following the deadline for submitting the subsidy application without penalty, from 2024 the starting date of possession will be changed to April 1, better adapted to the biological characteristics of sheep. The obligation to maintain possession therefore begins even before the application submission period.
The requested animal can participate in an exhibition without losing the right to support
In addition to recognition, exhibitions provide an opportunity to make breeding animals widely known and to expand their market sales opportunities. Recognizing this, starting this year it does not mean breaking the holding period if the animal keeper transports the animal included in the application to a domestic breeding animal exhibition. At the same time, it is important that the animal remains the property of the applicant and that the movement of the sheep is duly notified.
