Hungarians love fruit yogurt
According to Nielsen’s Retail Index The domestic consumption of yogurt has increased by 5 percent from one year to another and in the period between September 2008 and August 2009, excessed 67 thousand tons.
During the investigated period yogurt was sold in a value of more than 35 billion HUF. It is a 3 percent growth in market value. The fruit yougurt is the eleventh among the measured foods with its over 29 billion HUF turnover. The increase in consumption is because of 90 new yogurt products appeared in the market, during the past year. The characteristic selling place of yogurt is the modern, 400 square meters large shop type. This mainly includes supermarkets and discounts of 401-2 500 square meters and hypermarkets with more than 2 500 square meters – reports Világgazdaság Online.
