Balaton is our favourite place

Thirty-seven percent of the Hungarian population is planning a vacation this year.Three-fourth part of them will have a rest domestically, mostly at the Lake Balaton. Among the foreign destinations Croatia is the favourite.

According to Forsense's public opinion research of June, more than half of the travellers are travelling with the family, third part of them with friends, 16 percent in a couple, only three percent is travelling alone. Sixty percent of the people under 35 and with a net family income over 200 thousand HUF travels. This ratio is close to 50 percent among highly educated people. The average lenght of a domestic holiday is eight days. Nearly one third will spend their holiday in private accommodation, 26 percent prefer apartments, 20 percent prefer camping and 12 percent go to hotel.
