Tesco launches a café chain in the UK
Tesco has teamed up with an upmarket London-based coffee shop to launch an ‘artisan’ café chain in the UK.
The new chain, Harris and Hoole, is majority owned by a London-based coffee shop group Taylor Street. The café’s name is a literary reference to two characters in Samuel Pepys diary. Taylor Street, run by Nick, Andrew and Laura Tolley, will have a majority stake in the new venture with Tesco owning a minority stake of up to 49 percent. The exact amount of the supermarket’s investment has not been confirmed – writes the article of M&M Global.
The first store had opened its doors in August, and the next will be launched in a few months by the parties. It is planned that a total of 15 units will form the network. (Marketinginfo.hu)
