A coffee crisis is raging in Rome
Romans are increasingly complaining about the high coffee prices in the city, as in some places they are already asking for two euros (approx. 800 forints) for a cup of coffee, the Alanews video reported.
The owner of a local cafe said that the number of customers who find the €2 price too expensive has doubled. However, due to the increase in prices, the owners had no choice but to raise their prices.
“Those who find it too much will cook for themselves at home”
he added.
According to the guests, however, the price of 2 euros is unacceptable, especially since salaries have been stagnant for years, while other costs of living are constantly rising. According to many, people are once again “drinking the juice” of inflation and the rising cost of living.
