Supermint in a Caribbean atmosphere: rums tested
This time, rums were analyzed by Nébih experts in the product test of the Supermint program. The comparative study included 20 rums – 11 gold and 9 dark – which also participated in official, laboratory and popularity tests. In the case of one product, the experts discovered a labeling error, while in the case of one white rum that was excluded from the test, action was taken due to a food quality problem. The authority initiated proceedings against both distributors and imposed a fine of almost 700 thousand forints in total.
Nébih experts compared a total of 20 rums based on the selection of larger retail chains: 11 gold and 9 dark rums were poured into the glasses, of which 18 were foreign and 2 were Hungarian. The laboratory experts checked, among other things, the alcohol, methanol and sugar content of the products. The alcohol content of the tested rums – according to their labels – was between 37.5 and 43 percent by volume. Based on the measurement results, the experts found all gold and dark products to be in order.
