Christmas Feast of Love: Thousands of families are counting on help in the current crisis
The Ételt az Életért Alapítvány, a charitable organization that carries out the humanitarian activities of Krishna believers, has been organizing food distributions in Hungary for 30 years, almost every day of the year. Although the extraordinary economic situation affects the contents of the packages and the number of servings, the people of Krisna do not give up: this year they will continue to organize the national Christmas Love Feast!
The energy and price crisis presents a challenge to all charitable and social care organizations. And according to the report of the Central Bank, food price increases have not yet reached the ceiling. Aid organizations are also in trouble, because although people’s desire to donate is the same as before, their opportunities are becoming more and more modest. This can also be seen in the results of the largest domestic food collection campaign, and we cannot be grateful enough to those who help selflessly anyway!
“The Christmas Love Feast has a message. To stop doing this would be tantamount to surrendering to the aggravating circumstances and abandoning our duty. Is there a crisis? One more reason to save up and organize the holiday sale!”
– says Attila Szanyi-Karl, Bhakta Vatszala, Krishna-believing minister, president of the Foundation.
