Christmas gift for the producers: the take-over price of milk has been increased
The dairy sector is in a better situation than a few months ago. The take-over price of milk increased by 20-25 HUF per liter – said Feldman Zsolt, the Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development (VM), responsible for agriculture.
The Deputy Secretary has pointed out: the sectoral crisis began in late 2008. Ad hoc measures were used to handle the situation both in Hungary and in the European Union. This year, the dairy producers could able to obtain from the dairy fund of the union 55 to 60 fillers per liter and an additional 6 HUF as a quota support. In addition, they received the so-called special dairy premium in two tranches, about 13 billion HUF, so they could obtain a total 15 to 16 HUF per liter support – reports MTI.
