U.S. consumers are optimistic before Christmas
According to the results of the joint survey of the University of Michigan and Reuters news agency; the U.S. consumer sentiment improved greater-than-expected in December 2010.
The overall consumer sentiment index was 74.2 points in December, after the 71.6 points of November. This value is well above analysts' expectations, because experts expected only 72.5 points. Since June this is the highest result – reports ProfitLine.hu.
