Tibor Kapu, a research astronaut of the HUNOR program, returned to Hungary last week. During his more than two-week stay in space, he also introduced the first Hungarian space chocolate, Stühmer Moment Corfu, to the world on the International Space Station (ISS).

The iconic sweet not only met NASA’s strict microbiological requirements, but also withstood the extreme conditions of space – such as temperature fluctuations and weightlessness. Tibor greeted viewers from space in a short video, which can now be seen here for the first time:

“I was lucky because I managed to bring a Hungarian dessert on board, the Stühmer space chocolate, which was developed in accordance with NASA’s rather strict microbiological requirements. This will be perfect as a dessert at the end of the meal.”

Thanks to the cooperation between Stühmer and the HUNOR program, the astronauts were able to taste Hungarian sweets for the first time. Stühmer Moment Corfu space chocolate is also available on Earth, so anyone can experience the taste that gave Tibor Kapu a home-cooked experience hundreds of kilometers above Earth.

The Hungarian research astronaut returned to Hungary last week after a long absence. Upon his return home, he will share not only his scientific achievements, but also this unique gastronomic experience with the public.
