Cabbage shortages may cause kitchen emergency in a country
South Korea’s typhoon-stricken cabbage shortage has pushed up vegetable prices by 60 percent due to extreme weather – origo wrote.
Summer typhoons passing through the country have heavily decimated the South Korean cabbage crop, which could cause a “kimchi disaster” in the country.
Cabbage is very sensitive to weather changes anyway, any unusual weather will damage the crop. And this year, the summer was unusually rainy, which was only exacerbated by the three typhoons. (origo)
