Chaotic prices in the shops because of the VAT increase
Only at the end of July will be orderliness in the retail price system, because the chains are reviewing individually the pricing of each category of products as well as the impact of VAT increase on traffic.
Most commercial units have built the VAT increase by one-to-one into the price, because they did not had time to consider that how much tax should be passed on the product.
According to spokesman for Tesco, Hackl Mónika the Tesco swallowed only a one percent VAT, the rest was integrated into price of the products.
Fodor Attila spokesman of CBA Ltd., pointed out, that in the case of basic foods, which were not included into the reduced VAT, trying to keep the prices down and increase the prices in the cases of price-sensitive products – reports Napi Gazdaság.
