Campaign for the native regional fruit species

Rural Development Minister Fazekas Sándor has signed the regulation on the propagation and distribution of the native regional fruit species. The regional fruit species will be added to the National Species Catalog with a  simplified approval and certification process.

According to the satement of the ministry, to distribute the regional species, the plants should be included into the National Species Catalog of the Agricultural Office (MgSzH). According to the new legislation, a simplified description of the producer or distributor is sufficient, contrary to the of the required official description of other breeds. It is important that producers should comply the plant health regulations during the propagation of the fruits. (MTI)
