In June, the deterioration in performance in the euro area economy continued to moderate
In June, the euro area performed significantly better than expected, and for the second consecutive month the rate of deterioration in the euro area economy moderated, according to the results of a survey conducted by the IHS Markit Economic Research Institute in London on Tuesday.
In June, the preliminary value of the composite purchasing manager index (PMI) aggregating manufacturing and service industry data rose to 47.5 points, a four-month high from the 31.9 points in May.
Economic analysts expected the composite index to be lower than the actual value of 42.4 points by June. (MTI)
