U.S. retail sales further declined in June
Instead of the expected rise, the U.S. retail sales continued to decline in June – announced the United States Department of Commerce. After the 0.2 percent drop in May, sales declined by 0.5 percent on a monthly level, while the consensus was +0.2 percent.
However, good news came from the manufacturing industry. The New York Fed's index rose by 2.3 points to 7.4 points in July, compared to the expected 5 points.
According to the June datas of the U.S. Trade Ministry, fewer goods were sold again, from the store shelves. On a monthly basis, sales decreased by 0.5 percent, compared to an expected 0.2 percent of expansion. The ministry modified the April data to -0.5 percent from -0.2 percent. (portfolio.hu)
