In June, retail sales increased more than expected in the United States
In June, retail sales in the United States were above market expectations, according to a report published on Tuesday by the Census Bureau of the Washington Department of Commerce.
In June, retail sales increased by 0.4 percent, compared to the previous month, while 0.1 percent was expected. At the same time, the Census Bureau moderated the previous month’s May growth from 0.5 percent to 0.4 percent per month after the review.
The increase in retail sales in June was primarily attributable to the increased retail sales of motor vehicles and other durable goods.
Retail sales grew by 3.4 percent in June, compared to a year before. In May, annual growth was 3.3 percent. (MTI)
