From July, donations can be made to a new purpose, helping families in difficult situations and developing children, at REpont vending machines. The donation is divided between three aid organizations; the Hungarian Red Cross, the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service, and the Ecumenical Aid Organization. 6-8 million redemptions are made every day, of which thousands of bottle fees are donated to charity by the redeemers.

At REpont vending machines, we can choose from three solutions depending on whether we want to get the 50 forint fee back. The most popular solution is a voucher that can be purchased in the store, more than 80% of redeemers choose this. There is also the option to transfer the money to a bank account, for this you simply need to scan the QR code associated with the registered bank account. As a third option, consumers can select the donation option on the display, in which case the 50 forint fee for redeemed bottles can be donated to a charitable cause. In the first period of the program, they could support children’s treatment and donate the value of the redeemed bottles to three children’s hospitals – Heim Pál Children’s Hospital, Bethesda Children’s Hospital and the Pediatric Clinic of Semmelweis University, where hundreds of millions of forints have been collected so far.

In the next period (July 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025), redeemers can provide assistance to disadvantaged families. With the donations, consumers can support Hungary’s largest aid organizations – the Hungarian Red Cross, the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service and the Ecumenical Aid Organization – with the redemption fee.

The Hungarian Maltese Charity Service is developing temporary homes for families operating in various parts of the country using the grant. These institutions not only provide housing, but also provide community and developmental activities for children, and counseling and labor market support for parents, so that families in crisis can rebuild their lives. The organization also finances the maintenance of playgrounds for disadvantaged children using the grant.

The Hungarian Ecumenical Relief Organization organizes various programs for the development of disadvantaged children. The Sure Start Children’s Homes support the development of the youngest children, while in the Tanodák and Jelenlét Pontok, older children receive regular development, tutoring, career guidance assistance and can participate in therapy sessions. The organization spends the money received from customers on these initiatives.

The Hungarian Red Cross uses the donated amount to support needy families across the country. The humanitarian organization specifically provides services and aid that would not be available to those in need without support. These include helping young mothers expecting their first child, organizing children’s camps, and training courses on healthy lifestyles, basic financial skills, and community cooperation.
