Széchenyi Rest Card datas for July: another 10 billion HUF to tourism and to the hospitality industry

The growth tendency of tourism continues during the summer months. According to the first semi-annual guest traffic datas published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH), between January and June the number of guests at commercial accommodation was 3.7 million, almost 6 percent more, compared to the same period of the last year. The number of guest nights was 9.1 million, that increased by almost 5 percent

The inbound tourism will continue to rise sharply: the number of foreign visitors increased by 8.7 percent to 1.9 million, while the number of guest nights increased by 7.8 percent to 5 million.

In the first half of 2013, the number of domestic tourists increased by slightly more than 3 percent to 1.8 million, while the number of overnight stays increased by 1.6 percent to 4.1 million, compared to the same period of the last year.
