The performance of the manufacturing industry in the euro area also decreased in July
In July, the performance of the manufacturing industry in the euro area decreased to the same extent as the previous month, based on the Purchasing Managers’ Index (BMI) of London’s S&P Global Market Intelligence and Hamburg Commercial Bank AG.
In July, the final value of the Eurozone BMI turned out to be the same as the previous month, at 45.8 points, against the preliminary value of 45.6 points.
Manufacturing new orders fell for the fourteenth consecutive month in June. The low utilization of manufacturing capacity had an impact on employment, which suffered the largest decrease this year.
A BMI value below 50 points indicates a decrease in the performance of the analyzed economic activity, and a value above 50 points indicates an increase.
