Consumer prices up 3.4 percent in July
In July 2018 consumer prices were 3.4 percent higher on average than a year before. In comparison with July 2017, food prices increased by 3.6 percent. Egg’s price rose by 7 percent and butter/dairy spread’s price grew by 9.7 percent. Dairy product prices augmented by 7.2 percent, but the price of sugar dropped 23.5 percent.
Motor fuels turned 17.8 percent more expensive. Alcoholic drink and tobacco product prices grew by 5.3 percent. Services were provided for 1.6 percent more. The price of household energy became 1.5 percent higher. Compared with June 2018, consumer prices elevated by 0.3 percent and food prices fell 0.1 percent. In January-July 2018 consumer prices increased by 2.5 percent. //
