From July 7, big changes are coming to the new car market, companies and motorists can count on this
From July 2024, only newly manufactured vehicles can be put on the market in Europe that have the prescribed, advanced safety and driving support systems. According to EU legislation, all new cars must have intelligent speed control, a warning system that detects driver inattention, an emergency brake signal, a reversing radar, an event data recorder, and the subsequent installation of an immobilizer breathalyzer must be part of the mandatory standard equipment.
The goal is, of course, to increase traffic safety and protect drivers, pedestrians and cyclists more effectively. However, such a wide-ranging and significant change also raises many challenges and questions, be it the price of new cars, expected delivery times, administrative problems or even the protection of personal data. Balázs Kövesdán, ALD Automotive | LeasePlan’s deputy commercial director summarized the most important information.
