The food remaining at OMÉK is used for charitable purposes
The food, which remains at the end of the 79th National Exhibition and Fair for Agricultural and Food Industry (OMÉK), will be used for charitable purposes – the organizers told MTI.
Food donations are donated by the Hungarian Food Bank Association to people in need, including retirement homes, children’s homes, people with disabilities or large families. Exhibitors at the fair can also make their own offer of food. Two years ago, at the OMÉK 2017, a total of 1.2 tonnes of food was saved and distributed through the association, primarily to families with children, according to the press release. (MTI)
