African-made smartphones are coming
Rwanda showcases the world’s first truly African-made smartphones – origo wrote. The Dubai-based Mara Group electronics division is dedicated to competing on cheaper Samsung devices with new models.
The company will begin production of two models, the Mara X and the Mara Z. Their specialty is that these are the first smartphones made in Africa to be used locally, but not for entry-level Chinese products. The former will be available for purchase at 175,750 Rwandan francs (about 60,000 forints) and the latter for 120,250 (about 42,000 forints) – Africanews wrote. (origo)
