Food manufacturers and distributors passed their exams well in the mid-term of the winter seasonal inspection
Satisfying results were achieved in the first period of the winter seasonal food chain inspection. In connection with the summary covering the initial two weeks of the campaign, dr. Márton Nobilis, the state secretary responsible for the food industry and trade policy, emphasized that it is gratifying that there is an improvement in all areas of food production and distribution. The inspectors did not encounter any marking errors and half as many food items had to be withdrawn from circulation as last year.
The first stage of the nationwide winter seasonal food chain inspection lasted from December 4-17. Professionals from county government offices, district offices and Nébih visited, among other things, Advent fairs, live fish sellers and primary producers, but also inspected pet food.
In connection with the first period of the campaign, dr. Márton Nobilis highlighted that 866 inspections were carried out by specialists in the areas of food production, distribution and catering. Compared to the same period last year, there is an improvement in all areas. The number of food items withdrawn from circulation did not even reach half of the previous year, and in almost all cases there was an expiration date in the background. It is a clear improvement that the specialists did not have to take action until now due to a marking error. As a result of the inspections, a total of 8 businesses had to be suspended, warnings were issued 8 times, and fines were issued in 55 cases, the state secretary explained.
