The world's number one auction site performs well
The world's biggest online auction service provider, the eBay closed a strong second quarter. The company reached a revenue of 3.9 billion USD in the April-June period, which was 14 percent higher than in the previous year.
Total company Enabled Commerce Volume (ECV) grew by 21 percent in the quarter, to 51 billion USD. The growth demonstrates the power of the company's global commerce platforms. Marketplaces, PayPal and eBay Enterprise connect merchants, retailers and brands of all sizes with consumers everywhere. Cross-border trade in the second quarter was 11 billion USD, representing 22 percent of the company's total ECV. The company's mobile commerce leadership is also driving an efficient channel for growth and engagement, with mobile attracting 3 million new customers in the quarter and growing more than 90 percent. eBay Inc.'s mobile assets and capabilities are delivering innovative, seamless commerce experiences for merchants and consumers across multiscreen shopping environments.
