The national hail mitigation system worked well
The soil-generated national hail mitigation system has operated nationwide, however, despite being state-of-the-art technology, it cannot provide effective protection against supercells. According to preliminary data, hail reports have been received from 21 places in Hungary in the wake of Friday’s thunderstorms, the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told MTI.
Friday’s cold front ended the third heat wave of the year. An approximately 800-kilometer-long storm chain developed in Central and Eastern Europe, which caused huge damage far beyond our borders, much greater than in Hungary, and also caused fatalities in the Czech Republic. (MTI)
