Traveler's checks – more popular than expected
Record amounts of discount holiday vouchers were purchased by the domestic employers in the first five months of the year. More than 31 billion HUF holiday bills were given to 700 thousand users.
According to the Thursday communication of the Hungarian National Holiday Foundation (MNÜA); compared to the same period of 2009, more than an eight percent increase occured, due to the social dialogue of the trade unions, employers and the government. "Fortunately, the pessimistic worst-case projections of the professionals were not proven. These projections forecasted a decline in the popularity of holiday checks, because of the economic crisis and the tax relief reduction"– reports ProfitLine.hu., after MTI.
