Discount retailing is a good business
German supermarket tycoons Karl and Theo Albrecht's families top the list of the German's wealthiest people, according to a report of Manager Magazin.
A survey by Manager Magazin put Karl Albrecht, 87, and his
immediate family's net worth at 17.5 billion euros. That was just slightly ahead
of brother Theo Albrecht, 85, and his family who were estimated to be worth 17
billion euros.
The Porsche family, whose famous luxury cars bear the family
name, came in third with a net worth of 12.45 billion euros. The fourth is
Dieter Schwarz, owner of Lidl and Kaufland chain, his net worth is 10.3 billion
euros.
The richest "large family" _ which could have
several hundred people according to the magazine's criteria _ was the
Brenninkmeijer family, owners of C&A clothing stores, with a net worth of 25
billion euros.
