The Coca-Cola Co. joins human rights group
The Atlanta based company has become the 14th member of the Business Leaders Initiative on Human Rights (BLIHR), an organization that touts itself as an “international business-led initiative to help lead and develop the corporate response to human rights
The Business Leaders Initiative on Human Rights (BLIHR) was
founded in 2003 by seven companies and is designed to help lead and develop the
corporate response to human rights.
Coca-Cola has in
recent years come under fire from left-wing activist groups some of who claim,
among other things, that Coke's employees in Columbia have been tortured,
kidnapped or murdered by paramilitary organizations that work with Coke plant
management.
