Retailers are considering legal action because of deposit return scheme
Retailers plan to take legal action against the Scottish government’s deposit return scheme, saying it will impose impossible financial demands on thousands of businesses. They claim that with less than a year to go before the scheme is set to roll out, the retailer handling fees announced by project owner Circularity Scotland will not cover the huge costs of the launch.
