A profession can really be mastered in practice – declared Dr. Márton Nobilis, the Secretary of State responsible for the food industry and trade policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, at the handover ceremony organized at the Dániel Csapó Dániel Agricultural Technical School, Vocational Training School and College in Szekszárd.

The state secretary explained that the coronavirus epidemic and then the Russian-Ukrainian war highlighted that agriculture and self-sufficiency are key issues for our future. He explained that since 2010, the government has been working to put the Hungarian countryside on a growth path. The expansion of the Sectoral Training Center and machine park established by the Southern Agricultural Training Center with EU funds and government support is also a significant step forward for domestic agriculture, as future agricultural professionals will gain practical experience here. He emphasized that, in the current challenging period, there is a special need for the right professionals to ensure the food supply of our country. Dr. Márton Nobilis drew attention to the fact that in the new teaching kitchen at the Csapó school, in the bakery-confectionery workshop, modern tools for practical education are waiting for the students, and in the Apponyi Sándor Agricultural Technical School, Vocational Training School and College there is a new machine park: tractor, field cultivator , soil loosener, supports the high-level training of future agricultural mechanics. We want the students to be proud of their achievements, the land they cultivate, and the bread they bake as a result of their work, he added.

Evidence of the innovation’s success is provided by feedback from instructors and educational institutions, and the fact that the number of applicants for vocational training has been increasing for years. In addition, the actors of the economic life also speak positively about the change, they are the ones who provide jobs for newly graduated professionals. Dr. Márton Nobilis called it important to develop a chain not only from the farmland to the table, but also from vocational schools to large companies.
