The good quality Hungarian grain is popular abroad
In terms of quantity and quality, the Hungarian wheat harvest was good this year – it was revealed at the press conference closing this year’s harvest. Grain cereals will abundantly cover domestic needs, so this year it will be possible to export. Nestlé also plays an important role in the acquisition and processing of the Hungarian wheat.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, autumn wheat was sown on 958,000 hectares in Hungary in 2018. After harvesting, 5 million tonnes of bread will be transported to the granaries, which means a 5,22 tonnes / yield per hectare. The quality of this year’s wheat harvest is very variable. In the view of the data above, it can be stated that the country’s wheat demand will be fulfilled this year and about 2.3 million tonnes can be exported.
