The weather is determined by a developing anticyclone, the Balaton region of which is expected to be right in its axis. This atmospheric situation typically results in light wind, sunny, warm weather in summer. Lake circulation plays an increased role at Balaton, which results in moderate winds blowing from the axis of the lake towards the shore during the daytime.

Weak (5-10 km/h) variable wind movement is expected in the morning hours. From midday onwards, the local wind system may be disturbed by a southwesterly gust, which may only cause a slightly stronger

(15-20 km/h) air movement. No significant waves are expected.

During the day, the layer of clouds will increase slightly, which will filter out the sunshine, but no precipitation is expected. The temperature in the morning will be around 21 degrees, which will warm up quickly and by the afternoon, values ​​of around 33 degrees are expected on the waterfront. The water temperature will be around 23-24 degrees.

The event was fully booked for the original date of July 26th, all places were sold out a month before the event, so registration had to be closed. The date also means a new opportunity, on August 9th, registration has reopened for the classic, 5.2 km distance, the SUP crossing and the 2.6 km half-distance!

Now the storm clouds have finally dispersed, the weather is nice, so we are looking forward to everyone being part of Europe’s largest open water swimming event.
