Tourism in the Czech Republic declined significantly in the first quarter
More than 3.1 million tourists stayed in hotels, boarding houses and campsites in the Czech Republic in the first quarter, 22.2 percent less than in the same period in 2019, the Czech Statistical Office (CSÚ) said in Prague.
The number of nights spent in accommodations decreased by 16.7 percent year-on-year to 8.9 million. The main reason for the decrease is the coronavirus pandemic, as the data in January and February still showed an increase. (Kokes János, MTI)
