There has been a significant increase in global air freight and passenger traffic
The global air freight and passenger traffic increased significantly in the eighth month of the year compared to the previous year, according to the latest data of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
According to a statement sent to MTI on Thursday by the Montreal-based trade organization of 200 airlines, passenger traffic was 7.2 percent higher than in the previous year, while passenger traffic increased by 0.7 percentage points to 84.5 percent in sold passenger mileage. However, IATA warned that the demand-side effects – mainly the low ticket price – will run out and the rate of expansion will decrease towards the end of the year. (MTI)
