The proportion of those who self-report being compliant has increased significantly
According to the K&H Sure Future survey, most drivers continue to violate the rules regarding phone use, speed limits, and parking and overtaking, according to middle-aged people. There has been progress in terms of speeding, as more than half of those with a license – 54 percent – claimed to strictly adhere to speed limits. The vast majority also do not get into a car if they have consumed alcohol.
What do middle-aged people think about the rule-following of drivers, and how do those with a license think about their own driving? Among other questions, the K&H Sure Future survey sought answers to these questions in recent years, including in the last quarter of last year. The representative survey conducted among 30-59 year-olds yielded several positive results, for example with regard to speeding.
This is also important because, according to police statistics, speeding is one of the most common causes of accidents involving personal injury: in the first eleven months of last year, speeding played a role in 27 percent of such accidents. Failure to comply with priority rules was responsible for 33 percent of similar accidents, and violating turning and overtaking rules was listed in last year’s police data with a rate of 17 and 4 percent, respectively.
According to the K&H Komisar Futur survey, the order has not changed significantly, the four least observed rules still concern phone use, compliance with speed limits, and parking and overtaking. According to 59-76 percent of those surveyed, motorists do not comply with these rules. A slightly better result was achieved in the case of rules concerning turning and U-turns, which are violated by motorists according to 43 percent of respondents. Four out of ten middle-aged people believe that drivers do not comply with the ban on drunk driving.
