The number of guest nights in Hévíz has increased significantly
Compared to the previous year, the number of guest nights spent in Hévíz has almost doubled in 2022, although it has not yet reached the record of 2019, mainly due to the lack of Russian and Ukrainian tourists, the mayor of the city announced at his press conference on Thursday.
Gábor Papp (Fidesz-KDNP) said: while in 2019, tourism in Hévíz reached a record number of guest nights with 1,233,000, the number fell to 248,000 in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus epidemic.
After the epidemic subsided, the number of guest nights more than doubled by 2021 – by 512 thousand, and last year it exceeded 951 thousand with another significant increase.
